Michael Struck founded the Ruby Group in 2013. The group now operates 20 Ruby hotels throughout Europe, with a further 10 hotels under construction or in the planning phase. In addition, Ruby offers perfectly equipped workplaces in a creative environment with its Ruby Workspaces.
Struck began his career in 1997 as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. In 2003, he joined Schörghuber Holding, where he held the positions of authorised signatory, director of strategy and marketing, and managing director of the Schörghuber Academy. He then held positions at Design Hotels, ArabellaStarwood, Lifestyle Hospitality & Entertainment Group, Cosmopolitan Estates and Gold Inn AG before finally launching his own hotel group in December 2012.
Ruby's expansion is supported by financially strong shareholders: the ECE Group, the Austrian Soravia Group, the German family office Franger Investment, the private equity fund Ocean Link, the investor Michael Hehn and Michael Struck himself jointly hold the company shares. Just recently, the Ruby Group entered into a partnership with the IHG hotel group to further advance its international expansion.
