Prof. Dr. Willy Legrand recieved his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from The Manchester Metropolitan University. He lives in Bonn, Germany. Since 2002, he teaches at the IU International University of Applied Sciences in Germany with a specialization in sustainable hospitality development and management.
He is the lead author of Sustainability in the Hospitality Industry: Principles of Sustainable Operations and of Critical Questions in Sustainability and Hospitality. He co-chairs the Hospitality Net World Panel on Sustainability in Hospitality and is the co-editor of the Journal of Global Responsibility.
As of 2024, he will take the lead of the HITT Think Tank as a moderator, in team with Heleri Rande.
