Breaking News 27.11.2023: arcona Hotels files for insolvency under self-administration

At 12 noon today, the management company of arcona Hotels & Resorts in Rostock filed for insolvency under self-administration. Heavy revenue losses in the catering sector have brought the holiday hotel group into operational difficulties. Only the German hotels are affected. The businesses continue to operate.  Alexander Winter, Managing Director of arcona Management GmbH, but also a 74.9% shareholder in arcona Holding (with partner Prof Dr Stephan Gerhard / 25.1% at his side), informed hospitalityInside.com personally. "There is a positive going concern forecast," reports Gerhard. "The group is not over-indebted, and the corporate structure is also suitable, but the group has a liquidity bottleneck."Despite these difficult circumstances, the company emphasizes that the implementation of the new corporate DNA has been successful and provides a solid basis for the future.
