Berlin. Across the globe, people's travel decisions are determined by fear. Nevertheless, the number of foreign trips continued to climb steadily in 2016 and were 4% higher. The World Travel Monitor expects this growth rate to remain unchanged for 2017. What will change though will be the travel destinations. These are more than ever influenced by the fear of terror attacks. These were the findings of the travel and trend studies presented at the ITB by FUR, IPK, ADAC and Travelzoo, London.
