Hotelstars Europe with new classification criteria

Sustainability, staff challenges and ongoing digitalisation and automation of the hotel industry were the driving forces behind this routine process to revise the criteria for hotel classification. The new criteria come into force as of January 2025.

Brussels. The Hotelstars Union revises the criteria for hotel classification for 17 member countries every five to six years. The most recent update took 1.5 years and reduced the catalogue from 270 to 247 criteria.
