First press conference of Steigenberger under Witschi as new CEO

Frankfurt/M. At this year`s conference on financial statements in Frankfurt, Steigenberger presented the conclusion of a successful business year. However, there were no strategic announcements of André Witschi, the new Chairman, as the industry had hoped for. Witschi emphasised the company`s expansion policy with the Steigenberger brand abroad.

All shake ups can be difficult, but within the circles of big business, they are usually a little smoother than in the Steigenberger case. In December it was announced that the long term Chairman, Karl Anton Schattmaier would step into the second row. Now, three days before his successor, André Witschi, is due to take up his new office, Schattmaier suddenly left the stage completely. This raises questions. The brand Steigenberger is generally thought of positively, but without a special profile. Expansion is slow and bad management decisions taken by the company's elite have fired the dissatisfaction of the staff. And above all there's the question: What does the Steigenberger family want? Frankfurt/M. The three Steigenberger Hotels in Switzerland enjoyed a positive fiscal 2007. The four Steigenberger Hotels in Vienna, Krems, Linz and Kaprun also look back at an extraordinarily successful fiscal, as it was reported at the press conference on financial statements of the Steigenberger Hotel Group on Tuesday.
