The hub will strengthen TUI's technological competencies, which are key to its transformation into a global, digital leisure company. The 150 experts will drive the integration of AI technologies across all platforms, in addition to the mobile app and payment systems.
The Porto Digital Hub is part of a network of locations that TUI uses to offer international tech talent the opportunity to work on the future of tourism. Hubs in Poland and India are also part of the network. The hubs complement a team of 2,400 employees at TUI already working in technology.
Up to 200 tech jobs
TUI plans to hire more employees in Porto in the coming months. By the end of 2024, up to 200 technology experts will be working there. All are fully integrated into TUI's global technology organization. Employees in Porto will thus have the opportunity to develop industry-leading products and platforms, combined with development and career opportunities within the TUI Group.
In 2017, TUI and IT service provider COCUS launched a partnership to establish a Software Development Hub in Portugal to support TUI's digital transformation. Over the past five years, the two sides have worked together intensively. TUI and COCUS have agreed to now fully integrate the existing organization into the TUI organization as a Digital Hub. The agreement for TUI to take over COCUS' teams has now been signed. / red
