Augsburg. Andrew Cosslett, CEO of InterContinental Hotels Group, recently predicted a "highly dramatic period" for the hotel industry. In the US, the negative development is taking definite shape: experts of a round table in Cornell drew up a correlation between declining business travels and room nights regarding the American market. A decrease of ten percent in airline capacity led to a 3.9-percent decrease in hotel demand. For 2009, hotel market researchers predict a decline of revenue per available room of 7.8 percent.

Investors' mood: Wait or act?

Reiner Nittka, Managing Director of GBI, a project development company in Berlin, does not evaluate the current situation as general negatively as JLL.
