Paris. Threatened by the arrival of top luxury Asian brands in Paris and chasing the coveted new French label "Palace", landmark hotels in the French capital close one after the other for massive renovation. Now, Le Plaza Athénée closed.
Amsterdam. citizenM, announced this week a partnership with the Artyzen Hospitality Group, the hotel management subsidiary of Shun Tak Holdings Limited which is run by the influential Ho casino family of Macao.
Munich. The biggest British budget chain Premier Inn aims to conquer the German market with a massive expansion drive. The company has already conducted comprehensive market assessments and has decided that the British design will not be translated 1:1 to Germany.

The new readiness of some chains for financial entrance might help in the expansion. Munich/Salzburg. In Austria, no hotel group has received an AAA in the current Treugast/Horwath Ranking and this is now regardless of the hotel industry in Austria nearly having gotten over the crisis. No miracle that more and more new investors and operators want to gain a foothold there. The competition in the capital is dramatically intensifying there.
Vienna. Vienna has obtained one more boutique hotel this month: The GuestHouse Vienna, located between the opera and Albertina museum, has opened. The industry knows one of the owners already from 25hours Vienna.
