Berlin. For the first time in four years, the German hospitality industry has been able to record turnover increases. Motors of growth for the change are hotels and restaurant chains. According to the new industry report undertaken by the German Hotels and Restaurant Association, turnover and profit predictions for the summer season 2007 are better than for the previous year. Nevertheless, growing costs and distortion in international competition, mean the association is still having to work hard in the fight against the introduction of a statutory minimum wage and to secure the reduction in value added tax.
