Frankfurt. Hotour Consulting, Frankfurt, is to extend its hotel consulting services to include the new business areas of project development and construction consultation. Klaus Fidlschuster will join the company on 15 October as additional Managing Partner.
New York. The world famous tennis star couple Andrew Agassi and Steffi Graf have established a hotel development company. The first agreement with a reputated luxury hotel group and a timeshare company is just finalized.
Hamburg. On 1 October Steigenberger assumed management of the Hotel Treudelberg in Hamburg, previously run by Marriott. Hamburg's Garbe Group acquired the property from the British firm Whitebread, now in the process of winding down its activity in the luxury hotel industry.
Berlin. After only three years, the Schlosshotel Grunewald in Berlin has once again changed owner and operator. Dr. Herbert Ebertz, owner of the luxury hotel and shareholder of the Dorint group, sold the hotel to a mystery Spanish investor known only as Alma.
London. Lifestyle hotels are continuing to raise the bar for the industry through differentiation, innovation and value-for-money. Meanwhile they particularly attract venture capitalists and private equity firms.
Parsipanny. Wyndham Hotel Group will franchise or manage 15 Wyndham upscale hotels under the new brand, totaling 2,886 guest rooms in key US markets and in 11 major European cities.
Frankfurt/M. June 2006, a month in which three of the four weeks of the FIFA world cup 2006 were held, has given Germany's incoming tourism a hefty boost. This was confirmed by the German Centre for Tourism in Frankfurt. The English, Swedish, Americans and the Australians pushed up the statistics.
Dubai. The Singapore-based serviced residence companies Ascott Group has launched its first Middle East property - Somerset Jadaf, Dubai. The Ascott Group, which operates 16,000 serviced residence units in key cities of Asia Pacific, Europe and now Dubai, plans more properties in pan-Arab markets as part of its Middle East foray.
Dubai. A one billion dirham development was unveiled by Limitless, the first integrated master developer in Dubai and a business unit of Dubai World. The Quattro Hotel and Business Park is a totally integrated business and retail, mixed-use development that will be set amidst luscious landscaping, connected parks and boulevards, offering a diversity of leisure and lifestyle amenities.
Munich/Berlin. Treugast Solutions Group has changed its management structure. Stephan Gerhard, the new group's new President, has appointed Thomas Schlieper and Dirk Feid to be the Managing Directors. In doing so, the group's management structure was adapted to the widespread board system known in Anglo-Saxon countries.
