Berlin. Swiss hotels and spas closed 2006 with exceptional results. Overnight stays made in Swiss hotels and spas were up by 5.8 percent on the previous year and the increase in foreign visitors grew by 7.2 percent, as the Federal Office of Statistics was able to show. The 4 percent increase in overnight stays made by the Swiss themselves resulted in the best results recorded by the hotel industry in 15 years.
Bahrain. Bahrain's hotel industry is brightening up, as in May 2007, the interior and exterior of Gulf Hotel's Tower Block as well as its Al Waha Restaurant and lounge areas will get a complete makeover. A multi-storey 600-space car park will be built to extend existing guest-parking capacity. In addition, Radisson SAS opened the first luxury corporate residence.
