Frankfurt/M. If a castle is for sale, it is almost certain to be converted into a hotel. Private investors let themselves be easily enthused by the idea of owning such a historic property. If there is no yield, they normally do not care about it. Only the heirs look for a financially satisfying solution. A consultancy has now analysed the economic perspectives of castle hotels.

Still, hotels' reputation makes them an attractive, economy-promoting tool in a city. On the other hand hoteliers know that office building in top locations can be their only chance to operate a hotel in a good location.
Berlin. The cologne based company Centromed once had an idea: The company wanted to build a medical care centre in Berlin composed of a medical practice, a hotel and wellness. Two years later the medical staff still haven`t moved in, on the other hand, however, the hotel has proved a success on its own. An unusual contractual structure for investors, leaseholders and sub-tenants leaves all possibilities open.
