From the perspective of German online sales specialist Quality Reservations (QR), the political and economic situation in 2025 will implicate several challenges. Nevertheless, QR Managing Director Carolin Brauer predicts: "According to the Siteminder Report 2025, 72% of people worldwide are planning international trips. The DACH region, a popular travel destination, expects the booking situation to remain stable in 2025."
Brauer cites the declining and shortened international trade fairs and savings in the MICE segment as reasons for this. Many large congresses will take place less frequently and companies are increasingly focussing on hybrid formats. "QR will respond to these trends with further innovative solutions and support its partner hotels with targeted strategies and advice," announces Brauer.
Quality Reservations itself can look back on an extremely successful financial year. Direct sales grew the most among QR partner hotels in 2024. The business segment continued to be a reliable pillar of success. The leisure segment was characterised by stability. The QR forecast for 2025: International holiday and business travel will remain at the high level of 2024, although travel to the DACH region is expected to decline.
In 2024, reservation sales across all online sales channels increased by 7%. The GDS segment performed particularly well with an increase of 9%, while the OTAs only grew by 3%. The highest growth rates were once again achieved by direct sales via hotels' own websites with an increase of 19%.
The QR portfolio expanded by 13 new hotels with a total of 1,341 rooms in 2024. The new additions include renowned hotels such as the Maseven Frankfurt Messe, the Kongresshotel Potsdam, the Schindlerhof Nuremberg, the Hotel Josefshof am Rathaus Vienna and the Hotel Allegra Lodge Zurich (all DACH region). / CB
