Zleep founder Peter Haber has now sold all brand rights to the Chinese company H World. He and the Steigenberger parent company are thus going their separate ways. Expansion in Europe is now on the agenda.

Oliver Bonke from H World International confirmed to hospitalityInside yesterday that 160 jobs will be cut at Steigenberger Hotels GmbH, based in Frankfurt. The Chinese-owned company is clearly tightening its belt: it must remain competitive. And the focus is now only on global.

Frankfurt/Stockholm. Danish brand Zleep, included within the Deutsche Hospitality family since 2019, has opened its first two hotels outside Denmark and is again steering its expansion out of Copenhagen. Sweden's Scandic Group announced the Scandic Go economy brand last week and is fine-tuning the final details at its premier hotel in Stockholm. A conversation with Zleep CEO Peter Haaber and with Scandic's Senior Vice President Portfolio Development, Jesper Engman.
