Hamburg. The Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg, managed by Kempinski, has been sold to the clinic operator Asklepios. Asklepios already has experience in the luxury hotel industry and operates a hotel with adjoining clinic in Bad Griesbach.
New York. YOTEL has announced global expansion plans this week targeting key city centers and international airports in Asia, Europe and North America. More than 3,000 cabins are scheduled to open by 2018, including YOTEL hotels in Singapore, Paris, Miami, San Francisco and a second property in New York City.
London. The "Owners Association" of the InterContinental Hotels Group today counts over 100 members. In 1955, on its creation by Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson, the small circle was the very first owners association in the hotel industry. The first international, chain-independent platform though was created ten years ago in London. Its name is HOFTEL and its founder Simon Allison. Hoftel defines itself as the "global voice" of hotel owners - and has a number of prominent names to show for itself. Now, it plans on gaining a stronger foothold in Europe.
