Manila. Omicron had proved to be a big brake wedge in early 2022. Now, at the WTTC's 21st Global Summit in Manila, the World Travel & Tourism Council and its knowledge partner ForwardKeys predicted an uptick in international travel with a sharp increase in global international air bookings.
Florence. Open-air tourism in Italy is consolidating its recovery path which already started in 2021, when total summer overnights were 38% above the previous year. A current study indicates that this year might get close to pre-pandemic levels. International tensions, however, could undermine the prospects.
Frankfurt. Face-to-face events will again reach the number of participants of 2019, is one conclusion of the Meeting- und EventBarometer 2021/2022 for Germany. Many positive signs point to the recovery of the business travel and MICE market. Germany is still ahead in a European comparison, ahead of France and Italy. Hybrid is increasing massively, but service is also demanded.
