Augsburg/Hamburg. On the hotel real estate market, the investment mood is still good, especially concerning those with their own businesses. When looking at the industry and the next few months, the mood is more cautious. This is one result of the "Investment BAROMETER" survey initiated by the online magazine hospitalityInside.com in cooperation with Union Investment around the time of Expo Real Munich every year.

McLean/London. Hilton announced its new brand Motto by Hilton and Premier Inn comes along with ZIP. Both types represent affordable and flexible room products of a small size. But the locations differ: While Motto is promoted as a micro-hotel within prime locations, ZIP will be located on the outskirts of major towns and cities.

Munich. The camping guides published by the ADAC, the General German Automobile Club, listing tested camping sites were already in high demand in the printed version. Now, the ADAC is clearing the hurdle of digitalisation: In November, it will launch a new international booking platform for glamping. The platform is open to all businesses.

Paris. Following the terrorist attacks in 2015 and 2016, France is catching up significantly in tourism. In 2017, 117.9 million domestic and foreign guests and 209.9 million overnight stays were registered nationwide – new records. Only hotel transaction is still lacking.

Zagreb/Vienna. The Croatian leisure group Valamar has started to realise its expansion plans and the start-off is in Austria with its first winter sports hotel. Background is the employment of the seasonal staff members all year round.
