Miami Beach. The VillaHotel concept offers elite luxury accomodations around the world. Bringing five-star hotel services to the finest private residences, VillaHotel tries to find its niche. In 2002, the German Christian Jagodzinski came up with the concept when he faced the challenge of finding private, high-end residences for brief stays. Today he lets 26 villas in the United States and Europe. He plans to grow to ten VillaHotels per destination.

Terre Blanche. "Four Seasons University" is the name of an event giving the group's top clients and selected media a personal overview of the thinking and planning of the Canadian luxury hotel group. Last week, this circle met for the first time in the Four Seasons at Terre Blanche in Provence, France. Among them Jim FitzGibbon, President of Worldwide Hotel Operations since January. He and his colleagues discussed business principles and current expansion plans.

The Rocco Forte The Charles in Munich is open

Munich. A colourful range of guests, typical for Munich, celebrated the opening of the new Rocco Forte hotel The Charles in the Bavarian capital last Monday. Of all three of the Forte hotels in Germany, this is the one with the greatest potential. General Manager Frank Heller is looking forward to an extremely successful first month. The location, directly next to Munich central station, is not as chic as that of its sister hotel, the de Rome in Berlin, but not as removed as the Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt. And guests wondering around the hotel itself, look mainly on to the plush Lenbach gardens next door. Inside, the design exudes elegance and light. The colours are chosen to be brighter and friendlier. Nothing smacks of the near sad dreary grey of the Frankfurt restaurant.

NH launches the brand edeNH

Madrid. In future, all 5 star resorts of the Spanish hotel chain NH will carry the name "edeNH". The names of eight hotels to be collected under this brand have now been announced. NH intends to make further details known in November.
