Oberursel. Europe's second largest tourism group Thomas Cook continues its strategy of terminating capital-intense partnerships: The group is selling its share of the Spanish Inversora de Hoteles Vacacionales hotel company to a bank and a Spanish hotel chain.
Munich. For the fifth time, the "Hospitality Industry Dialogue" will take place during Expo Real at the Munich fair. There will be discussions about topics and regions such as Russia, the Gulf, acquisitions/transactions and evaluations.
Hanover. TUI Hotels & Resorts, Europe's largest holiday hotelier, head the World of TUI's hotel affiliates. In 2006, 279 hotels in 30 countries with a total of 165,000 beds were contained in TUI's hotel portfolio. By the end of 2008, 25,000 extra beds in over 30 new hotels are to be added.

Marrakesh. Marrakesh is booming. For three years, real estate prices have been exploding. Wiesbaden. Unknown hotels are located next to legendary ones as equals, hideaways next to hip hotels, and all of them come with a unique quality: the personal flair many travellers dream of. In times of "quality versus quantity", those organisers will assert themselves that manage to cultivate their niche. One of them is The Mediterranean Experience from England. 40% of its hotels are often not listed among other comparable operators, says the Managing Director of the company's office in Wiesbaden, Germany.
St. Gallen. This and next year, the number of overnight stays in Switzerland is to grow by one percent. Schweiz Tourismus wants to have significantly more Russian guests.
