In future, the EU will use the Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) to record the emissions of individual property types. The hotel industry has managed to be recognised and treated sensitively as an asset class in its own right. It has secured customised benchmarks. Serious investors and asset managers know this: Saving CO2 is definitely more profitable than sitting on stranded assets.
