News such as the most recent that from now on, Marriott Hotels is allowing their guests the first mobile check-in at 20 hotels around the globe demonstrates that the mega chain has not stopped working on innovations and implementing them. Up to the Lehman crisis, Marriott had communicated superlative expansion figures only, then the chain became increasingly quieter as to not have to talk about their worsening figures … Slowly they appeared again and not only communicate locations today, but also new qualities, e.g., the new meeting concepts "Next Generation Meeting Spaces".
IHG: Cash injection for multiple franchise partners

As there are only very few professional franchisees in Germany and the competition among the franchise-focussed chains becomes more fierce, InterContinental Hotels Group ventured an advance: it takes over a considerable franchise guarantee for partners, who enter into several projects with IHG.
Moxy: Marriott's new budget line
Berlin. One of the oldest US chains has only now made its move into the budget sector. The new hotel product will be financed by Ikea's real estate company Inter Ikea and will be called Moxy. Marriott would like to operate 50 Moxy Hotels over the next five years - to be achieved through franchise agreements. The model room in Berlin caused quite a stir.
