Today, Emanuel Berger takes his leave from Victoria-Jungfrau Collection
Passion
13.5.2010

Interlaken. 39 years ago, Emanuel Berger and his wife Rosmarie took over today's Grand Hotel Victoria-Jungfrau in Interlaken in Switzerland. At that time, the hotel was a "charming lady with torn underwear", as a guest once remarked, and the Bergers even incorporated their wedding presents in the hotel. For a long time now, the luxury hotel at the foot of the world-famous mountains of Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau has been one of the leading hotels in Switzerland and ranks among the top hotels of the world. Thanks to Emanuel and Rosmarie Berger, an innovative spirit has been living in the old building for decades: the Victoria-Jungfrau was thus the first Swiss luxury hotel to strip off its patina and become the first "young" Grand Hotel in Switzerland by reconstructing/adding a professional spa. Today, a model host couple takes its final leave. Honouring a great hotelier - from our Swiss correspondent Silvia Pfenniger, a long-year companion of the hotel and "its" hotelier.
